Ragusa in the
old quarter called Ibla which is considered one of the best example of
Baroque architecture.

Ragusa is the southernmost district of Sicily. Its territory belongs to the
Val di Noto, which is an area spreading also through
Siracusa and
Catania district, and it famous for the baroque architecture, declared
Unesco World Heritage sites.
Some of the most attractive places, few miles away from
Ragusa Ibla, are:
Noto,
Modica,
Scicli,
Palazzolo Acreide and the castle of
Donnafugata. Also with daily excursion can be reached
Caltagirone,
Siracusa,
Catania and the volcano
Etna.
Beaches are at only 20 minutes by car.
Marina di Ragusa, Punta Secca and
Donnalucata are getting every days more popular among tourist coming from all over Europe, yet they are remaining unspoilt natural sites. The region of
Ragusa is one of the sunniest area of Europe and solar radiation is particularly intense.
The territory is spotted with many farms producing wine (Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOC) , olive oil (Mounts Iblei olive oil DOP ), cheese (Ragusano DOP) and tasty vegetables. The town of
Modica is also famous for its tradition of patisserie an particularly the production of
chocolate pastries.
